The Museum of Flight in Washington State
The Museum of Flight is a private non-profit air and space museum at King County International Airport , in the city of Tukwila, Washington. Established in 1965 the museum is fully accredited by the American Alliance of Museums. As the largest private air and space museum in the world, it also hosts the largest grade school educational programs in the world.
The museum attracts over 400,000 visitors every year. The museum serves more than 140,000 students yearly through both its onsite programs, summer camp , and with outreach programs that travel throughout Washington and Oregon.
The Museum of Flight Mission Statement : The Museum of Flight exists to acquire, preserve, and exhibit historically significant air and space artifacts, which provide a foundation for scholarly research, and lifelong learning programs that inspire an interest in and understanding of science, technology, and the humanities.
