Fun Fundraising Idea – Period Tea
Fundraiser Idea for Local Museum or Gallery or Library – Period Tea
Hosting a Period Tea is very easy. You don’t have to invest a great deal of money or effort in putting together a memorable tea for your Museum or Gallery or Library fundraiser. A memorable Tea can be as simple as cream tea which is simply scones, served with clotted cream and tea. A nice table cloth, mismatched tea cups, plates and a hot pot of tea. If you think you would like to attempt an afternoon tea, start with the scones or little cakes. Try to find a local bakery to donate snacks in exchange for promoting them. Small sandwiches from a local deli would also be a welcome addition to the menu.
How about a Mother and Daughter and Grandmother Tea Party?
Girls of all ages love tea parties, invite all generations into the mix.
Allowing different groups of volunteers to create ‘tables’ will inspire them to excel.
Don’t get too stressed about making tea, it is in tea bags. To distinguish yourself as a tea aficionado, just follow the time-honored tradition of first warming the tea pot. Add a bit of boiling water to the pot, give it a swirl and pour it out before adding your tea. Then add the boiling water, and steep tea for 3 or 4 minutes and don’t let the tea steep too long or it will become bitter.
As for what to charge, we have seen any ware from 25 to 100 dollars a person. If too many people sign up consider several sittings. Remember this is a tea party so the volunteers should be in their best attire.
